Epipher

The repetition of the same expression at the end of successive sentences or clauses.

Explanation

Epiphora links different beginnings to the same conclusion. With each repetition, the recurring closing phrase gains greater weight.

Example

We speak for tomorrow, we act for tomorrow, we hope for tomorrow.

Counterexample

Tomorrow we speak, tomorrow we act. – This is an anaphora.

Distinction
